I'm Vicente Tristão, Founder and Creative Director at MadLow Studio, a multi-disciplinary creative studio specialized in 3D visualisation.
Everyone has a story to tell, and here’s a bit of mine…
Originally from São Paulo - Brazil, my creative journey started early on as a child, when I would spend hours drawing, sketching and colouring books - life was very different back then, with no phones or computer screens to suck your attention and distract you!
I would create my own fictional characters and their amazing stories, sometimes spending the whole afternoon after school playing inside my own imaginary world…
As I grew older, I started to pay attention to the real world around me and became fascinated with forms, shapes and symmetry! (I was always a bit geeky and loved maths, geometry and trigonometry at school)
As a teenager and with the advance of technology, I developed a passion for photography and eventually discovered the power of photoshop - my life was totally changed after that, as I could now edit photos and put together all crazy ideas I had in my head.
By the time I was in college and with the social (my parent’s) pressure to decide what to study and what career path to follow for the rest of my life, I ended up finding that architecture could be a very rewarding and fulfilling profession.
Although, after a couple of years it felt like something was missing, as I was not able to communicate my ideas only with sketches, spreadsheets and diagrams. That’s when I found out about 3d and architectural visualisation!
A few months later I dropped university and enrolled in a full-time 3d visualisation course… I could again create my own worlds from scratch, and they were much more realistic than ever before! The best part of all - I could help other architects to do the same.
Although some friends and family were very sceptical about the potential of it as a profession at the time, I quickly got a job as a 3d visualiser for a design agency and never looked back!
Fast-forward to 2024 and I am grateful and proud for having worked for some of the biggest visualisation studios in Brazil and the UK, on projects all over the world, producing high-end visuals for many inspiring brands. I am also thankful for having the opportunities to collaborate and learn from so many talented clients and creatives along the way.
But life is not always smooth sailing and after having a hard time personally and professionally, combined with the undeniable pressure of turning 40 and feeling like I wasn’t where I had expected to be at that point in my life, I felt overwhelmed and unhappy. That’s when I decided that a change was needed…
I left a good stable job, took a step back and went on a mini ‘sabbatical’, with the intention to reconnect with my personal values and to reflect on where I was and who I wanted to be.
After a few months of intense reflection, planning and personal development, I finally reached a moment of self-actualization and got back into the flow. That’s how MadLow came to be...
